New Song Mission is a ministry where modern-day orphans will be identified and invited to become residents on the 100 acre campus of New Song. As soon as the house parents are in place and the children start to arrive, we will begin to make trips, multiple times a year to the campus. As many Transitions groups have traveled to New Song Mission to assist with work projects of the houses while being built, the Transitions mentees have been able to hear the vision and the passion from the founder as well as the construction foreman. We are excited to begin developing mentoring relationships between the New Song children and the mentees of Transitions, to be living examples to the children of what is possible for their futures if they allow The Lord to lead them, and live their lives for Him!
Over school breaks and during the summer we make visits to out-of-town and out-of-state patients of the I.U. Medical center who are receiving housing through Fair Haven Foundation. In most cases, these patients may only have one family member or friend to be their care-giver for their extended visit. We normally take some baked goods, allow them to tell us their story, sometimes their life stories even get shared. They are typically starved for friendship and someone to just sit and listen to them for a time. The visits nearly always end with prayer, and in some cases we are able to return for multiple visits to the same patients.
